My name is Mary O'Neill. I am a graduate student at Temple University studying Public History. I have too many interests, some of which are clearly related and many that intersect in ways I have not yet discovered.

The Flying Ship is where I document my journey through academia and my travels around Philadelphia and beyond. Here you may find discussions, contemplations and on the rare occasion I find myself feeling particularly tempestuous, rants, about history, art, archaeology, children's literature, education, folklore, the history of all of these things and the confounding question: Why do I care?
